1. Why are my download speeds so slow?
A. If you're downloading from the 'free public server', your speeds will almost always be very slow. This is because the server is completely public, so many people are always trying to download from it. If you want better speeds at all times, you must become a donator to get onto the faster private server.
B. All my servers are located in the USA (New York City and Texas) because most of the visitors to this site are from America (including myself). Due to the tremendous physical distance between the continents and the large number of hops it may take you to reach my servers, it's easy for things to get slowed down for people outside North America.
C. Your downloads might be slow because you are not using a download manager. You should use one instead of downloading via your web browser and use these settings. Those are the settings I use and I can download very quickly even from the free public server when it is very busy. When I don't use a download manager, the speeds from the public server are very, very slow.
D. There is really nothing I can do to speed up the download speeds on the public server. The only way is to add more public servers, but that would require more donations.
2. The server isn't responding or I keep getting disconnected. What should I do?You are either banned or the server is so busy that it keeps booting you off. Use a download manager to automatically reconnect if you get booted off. But make sure you don't set the max connections per server too high. Here is an example: settings. If you are banned, you must contact me or wait several hours to become unbanned.
3. What's the difference between the Free Public Server and the Fast Donators-Only Servers? The 'free public server' is a server that often has many people downloading from it. This is because the server is completely public and anyone can download from it. The speed from the donators-only servers should always be fast no matter what time of the day it is. For more information about the donators-only servers, please see here.
4. Can I still use a download manager with the donators-only server?Yes, all good download managers should have an area to enter in your username and password.
5. Why was I banned?People are banned for various reasons, such as hotlinking or opening too many connections to the server. If you think you are banned, please fix your download manager settings and wait 5 hours to get unbanned or e-mail me. If you get banned, please don't bother getting angry at me. Unless you're a donator, I have no obligation to continue serving you free files.
6. What happens if you delete a file while I'm downloading it?Even when a file is deleted, you will continue to download it normally. But if you get disconnected and try to resume the download, you will get a "not found" error.
7. May I hotlink your files? No, you may not. Many forums like to hotlink my files without permission. This is not allowed. If you want this site to remain online, I am kindly asking that if you find anyone directly linking to my files that you tell me right away.
8. Why does your site have such a simple design?I like to keep things as simple as possible. Besides, I'm not very good with graphics.
9. How much server space and bandwidth do you have in total?I only have 1.2 TB of space across 3 dedicated servers. As for bandwidth... well, I better not say.
10. Why do you do this?I do this because I know not everyone can use BitTorrent. And if you can use BT, but aren't going to bother uploading/seeding a file, you might as well leech from me instead of screwing everyone over by always disconnecting after you finish your download. In addition to all that, I'm simply a nice person and I enjoy web hosting.
11. How do you afford this?Instead of buying that $800 widescreen LCD that I want, I use the money to pay for the servers. No, I'm not complaining because no one is forcing me to do this. The ads on the site also help out, so please do not try and disable the ads.
