Description:"I know this is going to be a popular one. Here comes the first of the four-part, remastered release of all 206 Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons!""You've no doubt seen some of the original releases from a few years back. Those were some of my earliest subs... and it shows. The video quality was pretty bad, there were a number of mistakes in the translations, and I ended up using about a dozen different colours and styles of fonts. So because I wasn't totally happy with the way they turned out, I went back and fixed up every single script (as well as finishing the 25 that were never released). Now the subtitles are clear and consistent, the translations are more accurate, and the video quality is somewhat better. (Unfortunately, the recent DVD release wasn't complete, so I still had to use the original TV recordings as a source. But my encoding skills have improved over the years, so these still look quite a bit better than they used to.)"
"For the two or three fans who may not be familiar with the series, this was a segment that aired for two years as part of Bishoujo Kyouiku (later Bishoujo Kyouiku II). It features Ayaka, of Coconuts Musume fame, sneaking up on the members of Morning Musume and surprising them with short and (supposedly) useful English lessons. Much hilarity ensues as the girls struggle valiantly with their English pronunciation, which ranges from the impressive (Nakazawa Yuko), to the truly atrocious (Tsuji Nozomi)."
"This first batch contains the first 54 lessons (including the first round of tests) from when the project had just started. Back then, Ayaka seemed more nervous about it than any of the girls... and she had yet to figure out that offering edible rewards was far more effective than threatening them with tests.)"
"As some of you may know, this was originally intended to be an HPS release. But HPS is very busy these days with a whole lot of great releases coming just around the corner, so I decided to go ahead and release this one solo... with a little seeding help from a couple of friends in HPS!"
"Enjoy the videos, and stay tuned! The next batch should be out in about a week..."
"NB: THESE REMASTERED LESSONS ARE INTENDED TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL RELEASES. PLEASE DO YOURSELF - AND OTHERS - A FAVOUR BY DELETING YOUR OLD EPISODES AND REPLACING THEM WITH THESE. IF YOU'VE GOT ANY OF THE OLD ONES UP ON SITES LIKE YOUTUBE OR GOOGLE VIDEO, GET RID OF THEM AND PUT THESE UP INSTEAD. THANKS!"
